Hi Everyone
today 25th seem to be a day that I would not like to go out. The weather began last night and was fortunate that the rain made a pause as I was cycling back from Asagaya station. The bike gave me new freedom as I have venture a few times outside the boundaries of the Youkobo map. :)
The event that Emma and Yumiko attended with me, organised by the Junior Chamber International Tokyo was interesting, facilitated by a young and dynamic person who could animate the participants. He used the method from the Open Space Technology to get the participants to come out with ideas that can animate and regenerate shops streets. After 2 sessions, 4 hours, a few interesting ideas came out. I hope they follow up with discussions on how to do it as ideas is only good if they can be realised.
In our groups we have ideas now and we are in the process to discuss on how to carry out our ideas and these would need to begin with a lot of discussions among yourself to get to know each other better. These activities are important as beside building bonding and trust among the members the meetings will allow each one to take initiative and not wait for someone to ask to do something or thinking someone must give order or that the project belongs to someone or group. Discussions to get to know each also allow each one to develop their potential, autonomy, confidence and understand the problems and difficulties faced by each one and the project. These are acts of accountability and transparencies, will promote ownership and responsibilities for the project and in turn be experience and knowledge for each one to be independence if they choose to do something on their own or for the project.
There are many ways and not only one right way, but depending on the criteria and objectives, some are more suitable and necessary.
Still talking.......
