This time, I really physically got started on the work to build the instrument.

I had already cut the wood several days before at YANE, my workshop in monzen-nakacho.

You have to have the wood material rigidly secured to the table where it will be cut.  I drilled in some holes for screws to go in.

今回まじ作り始まってるって言う実感がついた。

木材はもう僕が借りてる工房でフレームの輪郭を描いて丸鋸で切っといた。

ルーターを使うときに掘る素材を固定させなきゃいけないので、木に穴を開けてネジが通せるようにしといた。それで浅草橋工房に持って行って、cncルーターの台に置いてネジ入れてからパソコンだす。

また前の日と同じように、最初の方に何回も失敗しちゃって全然うまくルーターが動かせられない。しまった。まだ上の限界を超えて警告がパソコンで出て来るやつ。まあまあ、いろいろあってさ、なんでもいつも必ずしもうまくうまくいくわけないからさ。とにかく超長い時間経ってから高さの問題を解決させて（僕頭いいから。いいと勝手に思ってるだけって奥さんが言ってるけど笑）やっとくり抜く作業が始まった。

他にいろいろあった！ちょうやばっ、と思って、ビットが長くて細いからルーターが揺れたり、ビットが落ちたり、折れちゃったりした！

Just like the day before, I ran into trouble.  I thought things were going way downhill at one point.  But I managed to get things done.  The thing was still going over the height limit.  But I found a workaround, wow yay! Good for me! 

Lots of shit went down.  I seriously thought I was just plain fucked at one point.  The bit is long and thin and easy to break under too much pressure.  It was shaking the whole machine at certain points in the cut.  The first time it slipped out and made a gouge in the instrument.  Then it snapped at the end.  But again I was patient and found a way to work around it, just avoid the deep cuts for now and shorten the bit length.  Phew!  

Only once did a crazy thing happen.  The router went way off its programmed route and made a cut through a section that I didn't want it too.  No idea why, the thing just got confused suddenly.  You may be able to see a picture of it in this photo collage.

一回だけルーターがなぜか変な間違いをした。
（ビットが落ちた時も楽器に微妙に傷ついちゃったけど、それは別にCAMソフトのせいじゃなかった。）

かなりルーターの動きに夢中になってたけど、途中で退屈になっちゃったからプロフィール写真取ろうとしてた。

The router is fascinating for me to watch, but after a while I got a little bored so I took me some selfie profile shots.

1日で５時間ぐらい掘ってた。５時間でこうなる。これから最後まであと６時間ぐらいかかると思う。

To cut this much took about 5 hours.  I estimate it will take about another 6 more hours to complete.
