Bringing theater to more and more people!
ーchelfitsch & Teppei Kaneuji "Eraser Mountain" performance in Tokyo (2024)ー
We have decided to launch a crowdfunding project for the performance of Eraser Mountain by chelfitsch and Teppei Kaneuji in Tokyo, at Setagaya Public Theatre, over the period June 7 (Fri.) - 9 (Sun.), 2024.
Besides raising funds, this crowdfunding project is an attempt to spread knowledge of chelfitsch and Eraser Mountain among more people, and to broaden the scope of theater, an undertaking that has the potential to transform the reality of here and now into something completely different. We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to review the activities of chelfitsch so far and participate in such challenging efforts from now on.
Why are we taking up the challenge of crowdfunding?
◉In order to encourage more people see works by chelfitsch.
This crowdfunding project is also aimed at getting more people to learn about chelfitsch and this work. Many people think that contemporary theater is hard to understand or have heard the name “chelfitsch” but have never seen a play by the company. Through crowdfunding, we hope to encourage such people to learn about chelfitsch and Eraser Mountain, and to see a performance in a theater or online.
Through the opus Eraser Mountain, people with various standpoints and perspectives meet each other, and together question the “human yardstick” and share the stance of taking another look at the world from a new angle. As one of the catalysts to this end, we in chelfitsch are taking up the challenge of crowdfunding.
The specific crowdfunding plan
We shall use the support received for the following purposes.
- Expense of holding the performances
- Expense of conducting the crowdfunding project
- Session for commentary on the work before the performance (all performances)
- Post-performance talk【June 8th (Sat)18:00】
- Viewing support
Even if the crowdfunding project does not reach its monetary target, we shall cover the deficit ourselves and promise to execute the aforementioned agenda.
Depending on the amount of funds raised, we may implement the following approaches.
1) Holding of a THEATRE for ALL tie-up event (a decision on whether or not to hold this event will be made on the basis of the funds raised as of May 6 (Monday, a holiday).

- Workshop, “Let’s become transparent together with chelfitsch”

2) Invitation to a generalprobe (final dress rehearsal) for youth who will lead the next generation of performing arts (a decision on whether or not to hold this event will be made on the basis of the funds raised as of May 31, Friday).
3) Cash-back payment for childcare service fee (available if the crowdfunding target is reached by the first day of performance).
4) Use for subsequent activities by chelfitsch
Even after the end of the series of Eraser Mountain performances, chelfitsch is going to continue to develop young actors and take up the challenge of new pieces as a theatrical company. The funds raised will also be used to support these future activities.

RISK AND CHALLENGES
As noted above, it has already been decided to hold the performances. Even if the crowdfunding target is not reached, we will stage the performances at our own expense. In addition, this crowdfunding will be on the all-in basis, and we will definitely make a return commensurate with the support received.
Nevertheless, please give us your support so that the performances will be seen by many people and serve as an occasion for fulfilling interaction among them!
In closing

We will always bear in mind the spirit in which we received this support, and carefully link it to the performances. We would also like to thank those people who do not have the margin to provide financial support, for taking the time to learn about chelfitsch on this occasion.
