『女性ハードロックプロジェクト『朱雀-SUZAKU-』7年ぶりのCD制作
All Female Hard Rock Project SUZAKU NEW CD in 7 years

2009年に初のミニアルバムを発表して以来、きちんとCDをリリースしなかった朱雀-SUZAKU-が、6月22日の川崎クラブチッタでのライブで、急遽7年ぶりにNEWアルバムを発売！
SUZAKU will be releasing its first album in seven (7) years, on June 22, at their live at Club Citta Kawasaki.

7年間発売されなかったCD

つい先日、『朱雀-SUZAKU-』のライブで6月22日にリーダー・SATORUの誕生日ライブを川崎クラブチッタで行うことを発表しました。 その時、とあるお客様より「せっかくクラブチッタでライブをするならCDも発売すればいいじゃないか」との声が挙がりました。

『朱雀-SUZAKU-』は2008年より活動を開始し、2009年に『朱雀飛翔』というミニアルバムを発表して以来、ライブCDやライブDVDなどはその都度発売していたのですが、しっかりレコーディングしたCDを一切発表しておりませんでした。 メンバーの交代や、リーダー・SATORUの渡米、バンドのプロジェクト化など、理由は様々です。 しかしながら、せっかく川崎クラブチッタという大きな会場で誕生日ライブを行うのに、他に何もないままでは確かにもったいない。

朱雀-SUZAKU-をずっと応援してくださっている皆さまの為、 これから出会う皆様に朱雀-SUZAKU-のサウンドをしっかりと届けるため、 7年間の朱雀の大きな進化の証を残す為、 この機会にCDを制作することを決めました。

First CD in seven (7) years

It was recently announced that on June 22, 2016, SUZAKU will play celebrating its leader, Satoru's birthday at Club Citta Kawasaki. The idea of releasing a CD at this epic show came up when the show at CLUB CITTA was announced.

SUZAKU, formed in 2008, released a mini album "SUZAKU Hisho" in 2009, but hasn't released any studio album since then. The reason being various changes of band members, SATORU moving to the U.S., and the band shifting into a project. It would be a good chance to release a new album at this big event at CLUBCITTA.

SUZAKU decided to record a new CD to deliver SUZAKU’s music to all the fans who supported the band/project for a long time, and to those meeting in the future, and to leave the big growth of SUZAKU in the past seven (7) years.

女性の、女性による、女性アーティストのための、音楽プロジェクトです。

以前はリーダー・SATORUがメインボーカルをとる3～4人編成のごく普通？のガールズハードロックバンドでしたが、とある期を境にプロジェクト化。
キーボードやサックス、そして新たに別のメインボーカルを召喚。

ハードロックだけに縛られず、歌謡曲やフラメンコなどといった様々な要素を取り入れ、
編成・アレンジ・楽曲はライブごとに変わり、変幻自在のステージを毎回お届けしております。

What is SUZAKU?

An all-female music project by female, for female artists, aiming to act worldwide, being proud of Japanese culture.

It started out as an ordinary girls’ hard rock band, having SATORU, leader of the band as the lead singer, but has converted into a project, and now includes keyboards, sax and a new lead singer.

Being not only in the hard rock area, various elements, such as pops and flamenco are being reflected in the songs. The project’s formation and song arrange also varies by gigs.

作曲したりベース弾いたり。 趣味でニコ動投稿したり。 
Composing, playing bass, and posting videos on “niconico” video share site.

Drum natsuko
ふんわりした見た目から想像できない、パワフルなドラム。
Delivering powerful drums sound from a tender look.

Keyboad 鳥居祐美 (Yumi Torii)
キーボーディストで作曲＆編曲屋で音響オペレーター。 
Keyboards player, composer, music arranger and sound engineer.

Sax 野澤美香 (Mika Nozawa)
クラシックからポップスまで、ジャンル問わず演奏する先生。 
Plays any genre, from classics to pops.

今回プロジェクトを立ち上げた経緯

上記のご説明のように、3月4日のライブで本当に急遽、CD制作をすることとなりました。
とにかく、やるしかない。一か八か、見切り発車の状態です。
その為十分な資金を用意できておらず、クラウドファンディングに挑戦しようと思ったのが今回の経緯です。

本当は万全な状態で皆さまにCDをお届けするのが筋だと思うのですが、
今のメンバーでの最高のサウンドをすぐにでも形にしなければ、またタイミングを失ったまま時が流れてしまう。

自分達を奮い立たせる為にも、皆様のお力をお借りしたい次第です。

Background of the project

As explained above, recording of this CD came up and was decided suddenly on March 4. All we can do is just go for it.
With not enough budget prepared, we came to the idea of bringing this to crowd funding.

Knowing the best thing is to be well prepared for the recording, we place the importance on delivering the best sound created by the current lineup. Time can pass by so quickly, and we would lose the chance again.
To deliver the CD, and to inspire ourselves are the same time, we would like to ask for your help.

制作するCDの内容

今回、8曲の楽曲の収録を予定しております。
『朱雀-SUZAKU-』お馴染みの定番曲から、新しめの曲まで。
歌謡曲風から少しヘヴィなナンバーまで、バラエティに富んだ楽曲をお届けします！

また、制作したCDはライブ会場の販売だけではなく、通販・全国流通・iTunesでの配信も検討しており、日本国内はもちろん、海外の皆様にもお届けしたいと思っております。

CD製作費内訳
●CDのレコーディング・ミキシング・マスタリング費用 (約30万)
●CDのプレス、デザイン費用 (約20万)
●ジャケット写真・PR動画撮影費用 (約10万）
●プロモーション費用等 (約10万円)

Contents of the CD

Eight (8) songs are to be included in this CD.
From SUZAKU’s classics to recent numbers, with taste of pops and a bit of heaviness, the songs would be in wide range of variety.

The CD will be on sale at SUZAKU’s gigs, and also planned for online sale, domestic distribution, distribution through iTunes, available for fans both in Japan and overseas.

Breakdown of cost
- Recording, mixing and mastering (approx. 300,000 yen)
- CD press, designing (approx. 200,000 yen)
- CD jacket photos, promotional video shooting (approx. 100,000 yen)
- Promotional fee and others (approx. 100,000 yen)

CDを制作するまでの流れ Flow of creating the CD

先ず、CDを作るためにはどんなことが必要なのか、ご説明します。
What’s needed to create a CD?

1.様々な手配・スケジュール調整 Various preparations, schedule arrangement

CDを作る為に、先ずすること。
・レコーディング、ミキシング、マスタリングをするエンジニアさんの手配
・CDジャケットのデザイナーさんの手配
・CDジャケットの写真を撮影するカメラマンさんの手配
・使用する音楽・撮影スタジオの手配
・レコーディング開始から、CD発売までのスケジュール調整
・CDをプレスする業者さんの手配

1枚のCDを作るのに、様々な方の協力を得なければなりません。

 > Arrange engineers for recording, mixing and mastering
> Arrange designer to design the CD jacket
> Arrange photographer to take photos for the CD jacket
> Arrange recording studio and photo studio
> Set overall schedule until the release of the CD
> Arrange company to press the CD

Lots of steps and involvement are needed to create an album.

2.プリプロ Preproduction

プリプロとは、レコーディングする前に行う様々な作業のことです。
CD音源にするにあたって、スタジオに入ってリハーサルをしながら楽曲アレンジを加えてみたり、逆に楽曲の1部をカットしてみたり。
レコーディングの時に必要なガイド(仮音源)を作成したりもします。
これをしっかり行うかによって、レコーディングのスケジュールが円滑に進むか決定します。

 This is a step taken before staring the recording. Be in a rehearsing studio and consider the song arrange, or create a guide sound source.Schedule of the actual recording depends on how well this step is taken.

3.レコーディング Recording

CD制作で一番大事な作業となります。
プレイヤーとエンジニアさんのコンビネーション、根気が必要となります。
一度で完全なものを録音することは難しく、何テイクも録り直しをし、クオリティの高い楽曲をエンジニアさんと共に作っていきます。
スタジオに籠りっきりになるので、太陽の光が恋しくなります。

 The most important part in the overall process.A good combination of the players and engineers, and patience are required.It will not be able to record in one take. Recording various takes is needed to create songs in high quality.

4.ジャケットデザイン、ジャケット写真撮影  CD jacket design and photo session

良い楽曲を作ることはもちろん、色んな方々の目に留まるようなジャケットのデザインを作らねばなりません。
先ずは撮影スタジオでジャケットに使用する写真を撮影。
撮影した写真を元に、CDのジャケットのデザインをデザイナーさんにお願いします。
楽曲の歌詞やクレジットも掲載するため、見やすく且つ『朱雀-SUZAKU-』の個性を引き立たせるデザインにしなければなりません。

 In order to catch many people’s eyes, creating a jacket with an appealing design is also important.Photos to use will be taken, and the designer will design the CD jacket using those photos.Lyrics and song credits will also be noted, so the jacket needs to be something that’s not complicated, and to show the characteristic of SUZAKU.

5.ミキシング、マスタリング  ixing and mastering

レコーディングした音源の音量やニュアンスは、プレイヤーや使用する楽器によって異なります。
それらのバランスを整えたり、効果を付け足したりして編集するのを「ミキシング」。
ミキシングが楽器ごとのバランス調整に対し、楽曲ごとのバランスを整えていくことを「マスタリング」といいます。
レコーディングした楽曲を『CD』という形にする為の、重要な作業です。
こちらもエンジニアの方とよく相談しながら、制作するアルバムの雰囲気、方向性、メッセージを決めていきます。

6.プレス、完成、宣伝　Press, promotions

マスタリングまで終えた音源のマスターデータと、ジャケットのデザインデータをプレス業者さんへ入稿。
CDがプレスされて手元に届くまで、約1か月かかります。
この期間を利用し、CD発売記念トレーラー(動画)などを作成し、
『朱雀-SUZAKU-』の音楽を一人でも多くの方にお届けする為、CDの宣伝を行います。
CDが完成し、手元に届いてからは全国の流通に乗せる為の手続きなど、やはりやることは多いです。

現在の『朱雀-SUZAKU-』のライブでは諷花が大半の曲のメインボーカルをとり、他数曲をSATORUがメインボーカルとして歌っております。
そんなライブで一度も歌ったことのない、SATORUがメインボーカルバージョンの楽曲を収録予定！

In the current lineup, Fuka sings most of the songs, and SATORU sings some. In this CD-R, unreleased versions of songs featuring SATORU as lead vocal for songs originally sang by Fuka, are included.

■ 限定スタジオライブご招待　+ Invitation to limited studio gig

ライブハウスとは違いスタジオという、ステージと客席との段差や距離もない間近空間で、『朱雀-SUZAKU-』のライブが観れます。
ライブ終了後は同スタジオ内で、メンバーと歓談できます。

 Watch SUZAKU play in a rehearsal studio. Unlike clubs, you will be able to see them play in a very close position. Talk to the members after the show!

想定されるリスクとチャレンジ

今回、目標金額に達しなかった場合でも、集まった金額の内一定の資金を受け取れるプロダクション・ファンディングの形式をとらせて頂いております。

もし目標の70万円に届かなかった場合でも、CDの発売をお約束します。

しかしながら、目標金額に及ばなかった場合、予定しております6月22日に川崎クラブチッタで行われるSATORU誕生日ライブでの発売に間に合わなくなる可能性もございます。

予めご了承ください。

皆様のご支援のおかげで目標額を大幅に超えて達成した場合は、今回レコーディングした楽曲のMV制作、新たなグッズの制作、まだレコーディングできていない楽曲の為の次のCD制作、などに残りの資金をあてさせて頂きます。

また、リターン特典にございます『限定スタジオライブ』に関しましては、 6月22日のCD発売以降で、観に来て頂けるコレクター様達のご都合も加味し、こちらで日程を決めさせて頂きます。

しかし、予定が合わない場合の返金等は対応いたしかねますのであらかじめご了承ください。

Possible risk and challenge

This funding is in the form of “production funding”, meaning even if the fund did not reach the target amount, portion of the money raised will be received by the funding owner. Even if the fund did not reach the targeted 700,000 yen, release of the CD is promised. However, the release date may not be the planned June 22. We would like to ask for your understanding on this point.

If the fund is raised over the target amount, the money will be used to create MVs for the songs, novelties, or kept for the next CD.

Additionally, the date of the “limited studio gig” rewards, will be later than June 22, and will be decided by SUZAKU based on the availability of the collectors. Please note that refund will not be made if not being available on the date.
