About abnormal weather in Japan earlier this year

みなさんこんばんは　Green Oneの広報です。

Good evening everyone, this is Green One's public relations.

年明けからの低い気温と、雪雲により北日本や東日本、西日本などの日本海側を中心に大雪になっています。

Due to the low temperature from the beginning of the year and snow clouds, heavy snowfall has occurred mainly on the Sea of Japan sides, such as northern Japan, eastern Japan, and western Japan.

「真っ白ですね…」"It's pure white ..."

広報の知り合い（新潟県）も車が動かせなくなるぐらいの大雪にて、仕事明けから大変だったそうです。

An acquaintance of public relations (Niigata Prefecture) also said that it was difficult after work due to heavy snow that could not move the car.

大雪と聞くと寒いように思え、温暖化とはかけ離れているように思えますが、実態はどうなのでしょうか？

When you hear heavy snow, it seems cold, and it seems that it is far from global warming, but what is the actual situation?

何故大雪になったのか？Why did it snow heavily?

もともと日本の冬の気圧配置は西高東低になることが多く、北西方向からの風が日本海側に主に雪を降らせます。

Originally, the pressure distribution in winter in Japan is often west high and east low, and the wind from the northwest direction mainly causes snow on the Sea of Japan side.

少し普通の冬とは違うような？

Is it a little different from normal winter?

今回の大雪の原因は、偏西風の蛇行にあると考えるのが妥当でしょう。

It is reasonable to think that the cause of this heavy snowfall is the westerly meandering.

それに爆弾低気圧が日本海にて発生し、大雪を降らせました。

Besides, a bomb depression occurred in the Sea of Japan, causing heavy snowfall.

これも異常気象の一部なのではと思います。

I think this is also part of the extreme weather.
