侍の信念を世界へ届けたい

皆様ご機嫌麗しゅう！阿部岳明でござりまする。

本日は、私の脚本について少しお話したいと思います。
普段は俳優と殺陣師の活動が多いのですが、脚本は舞台作品を合わせますと今回で6作目になります。
やはり時代物を書くことが多いのですが、大切にしていることは、歴史の再現ではなく「人間ドラマ」を描くことです。
その時代を生きた方々の心情・価値観や文化、身分等を意識しながら台詞に起こし、物語を紡いでいきますが、
特に言葉使いは難解な表現をなるべく避けるようにしております。
全て昔の言葉にしてしまうと、時代劇に慣れている方は大丈夫だと思いますが、あまり見慣れてない方は、物語に置いて行かれてしまう可能性もあると思います。
そんな想いもあり、私の脚本では時代劇を初めて見る方でも安心して楽しめるよう、台詞も工夫してあります。
もちろん侍や町人など、身分に合わせてその時代の言葉使いは意識しておりますが、すっと感情が伝わるように心掛けております。
私自身、わかりやすい作品が好きだという好みがあり、尚且つ観てる方が自由に解釈や想像も出来る余白を残して脚本を書いております。
おかげさまで阿部さんの書く作品は面白い！と、評価をいただくことが多く、特にまず読んでくれた俳優がこれは是非やりたい！と思ってくれるのが本当に嬉しいです。ありがたいことですね。

余談ですが、小学1年生の時に浦和市で作文コンクールのようなものがありまして、見事入賞したことがあります！
紅白玉入れ競技の作文だったのですが、紅白の玉を「まるい大きな飴玉」と表現してました！これはなかなかに詩人ですよね(笑)
そんな経緯もあり、昔から物書きは好きなのです。

少し話がそれてしまいましたが、今作はテーマもはっきりしていますし、話の展開もわかりやすいです。
侍たちの日常から、ある出来事がきっかけで、それぞれの人物のこれからの人生を左右する程の物語へ・・・江戸時代、侍の姿を通して見せる私たちならではの生き様を、是非見届けてください！！！

Today, I would like to share a little about my script.

 

I usually work as an actor and a sword-fighting choreographer,
but this is actually my sixth script, including stage productions.

 

I often write period stories,
but what I value most is not recreating history,
but telling a human story.

 

I carefully think about the feelings, values, culture,
and social positions of people in that time,
and build the story through dialogue.

 

At the same time, I try to avoid language that is too difficult.
If everything is written in old-style language,
it may be hard to follow for people who are not used to period dramas.

 

That’s why I write my scripts in a way
that even first-time viewers can enjoy with ease.
Of course, I still pay attention to the differences in speech
between samurai and common people,
but I always try to make the emotions clear and easy to feel.

 

Personally, I like stories that are easy to understand,
but also leave space for the audience
to imagine and interpret freely.

 

Thankfully, many people have told me,
“Your stories are really interesting.”
And what makes me happiest is when actors read the script
and say, “I really want to be part of this.”

 

I’m truly grateful for that.

 

By the way, a small story—
When I was in first grade, I won a writing contest in my hometown.
I wrote about a red-and-white ball game,
and described the balls as “big round candy.”
Maybe I was a little poet even back then (laugh).

 

So yes, I’ve always loved writing.

 

Coming back to this film—
the theme is very clear,
and the story is easy to follow.

 

It begins with the everyday lives of samurai,
and one event leads to a turning point
that changes their lives forever.

 

Through the lives of samurai in the Edo period,
we share a story that reflects our own way of living.

 

I truly hope you will watch their journey.
