我々「HRDプロジェクト」は、enjoy smile Co.株式会社と、P&A Works Company株式会社による「ユーザーと共にプロトタイプからラジコンカーを創る」というコンセプトの新世代ラジオコントロールカー（以下 RCカー）メーカーの設立を目指して立ち上げた共同プロジェクトです。
第一弾として人気の「京商 MINI-Z AWD」を2WDドリフトバージョンとして再設計した「MRD Prototype」を独自開発いたしました。そして 「京商 MINI-Z AWD」を2WDドリフトバージョン「MRD Prototype」へコンバージョンするために必要なパーツをまとめた「MRD Prototype コンバージョンキット」提供のために必要な金型を製作する資金を募るクラウドファンディングを立ち上げました。

We "HRD Project" is a joint project by enjoy smile Co. Inc and P&A Works Company Inc. We aim to establish a new generation radio controlled car (RC car) manufacturer based on the concept of "creating radio controlled cars from prototypes together with users".
As the first step of our project, we have developed the MRD Prototype, a 2WD drift version of the popular Kyosho MINI-Z AWD.
We would like to offer the MRD Prototype Conversion Kit, which contains all the necessary parts to convert the Kyosho MINI-Z AWD to the MRD Prototype 2WD Drift version. Therefore, we have decided to raise funds to produce the molds necessary to produce the parts through crowdfunding.

京商のMINI-Z（ミニッツ）シリーズは、世界累計販売台数が150万台を超え、小型ラジオコントロールカー（以下 RCカー）の最高峰として知られています。その中でも、4輪駆動（以下 AWD）でドリフト走行を楽しめる「MINI-Z AWD」は人気のシリーズです。

Kyosho's MINI-Z (Mini-Z) series has sold more than 1.5 million units worldwide and is known as the pinnacle of small radio control cars (RC cars). The MINI-Z AWD is one of the most popular series, offering 4-wheel drive (AWD) and drifting fun.

一方で昨今の通常サイズ（1/10スケールが主流）のRCカーによるドリフト走行の主流は、スロースピードでフルカウンターステアリングのドリフト姿勢を維持する後輪駆動車（以下 2WD）でのドリフト走行となっており、AWDではスロースピードでのフルカウンターステアリングのドリフト走行は実現できません。
「MINI-Z AWD」の設計者であり、enjoy smile Co.株式会社の代表である石川 博義氏は、「MINI-Z」でもスロースピードのフルカウンタードリフト走行を楽しみたいというユーザーニーズを実現するため、「MINI-Z AWD」を2WDドリフト仕様に再設計した2WDドリフトラジコンカー「MRD Prototype」を完成させました。

On the other hand, the mainstream of drifting with normal size RC cars (1/10 scale is the mainstream) nowadays is drifting with rear-wheel drive vehicles (hereafter 2WD) that maintain a drifting posture with full-counter steering at slow speeds. Drifting with full-counter steering at slow speeds is not possible with AWD.
Mr. Hiroyoshi Ishikawa, the designer of the MINI-Z AWD and president of enjoy smile Co. inc. wanted to realize the needs of users who want to enjoy full-counter drifting at slow speeds with the MINI-Z.
He redesigned the MINI-Z AWD and made it into a 2WD Drift radio-controlled car "MRD Prototype" was completed.

■MINI-Z AWD → 2WD Drift Conversion Kit - MRD Prototype - 概要(Overview)
「MRD Prototype」は、ロースピードの2WDドリフト走行に必須な機構である、90度に近い前輪の舵角（MINI-Z AWDでは25度程度）を実現するために車体の約6割にあたる部品を新規に設計しています。この新規設計された2WDドリフトRCカープラットフォームに、MINI-Z AWDのサーボ機構、受信機基板、リアサスペンションユニットなどのMINI-Z AWDレディセット付属部品を搭載することで2WDドリフト仕様を実現しています。

The decision was made to offer the kit as an "MRD Prototype Conversion Kit" with newly developed parts. The reason for this is that we wanted users to experience the development process of "build, run, and improve" based on the project's concept of "creating a radio-controlled car from a prototype with the user. こうして誕生したプロトタイプ「MRD Prototype」を日本発で世界中の多くのユーザーと創り上げていきたいと考え、「MRD Prototype コンバージョンキット」を提供する為のパーツを製造する金型代とプロトタイプの提供資金をクラウドファンディングによって募ることに決めました。
昨今では3Dプリンターを使えば少量のパーツを作ることは可能ではありますが、多くの方々に高品質な製品を継続的に体験していただくためには、金型による樹脂パーツの生産は必須であるという結論に基づくものです。
なお、今回製作する金型は、「MRD Prototype コンバージョンキット」提供の為で終わりではなく、今後更に新規のパーツを開発し完全にオリジナルな小型RCカーを皆様と創り出すための1歩となります。

The molds we will produce this time are not the end of the MRD Prototype Conversion Kit, but a step toward the development of new parts and the creation of a completely original small R/C car as "MRD" with our customers.

■想定されるリスクとチャレンジ（Potential Risks and Challenge)
RCカーの生産で必須となるのが金型であり、高品質な金型による高精度なパーツの製造は簡単にできるものではありません。さらにそれを安価に提供するには少量生産では実現できません。
我々は今回のHRDプロジェクト立案時期から高品質な金型を造ることができ、安定した高精度なパーツ生産が可能な工場を探してきました。そして、やっと我々が望む品質と価格を実現できる工場に出会うことができました。
ただし、どんなに素晴らしい工場であっても無料で生産を行うことはできません。金型を作成する費用だけでなく、保管・維持する費用、生産するための費用という形で多くの資金を必要とします。そこで今回、クラウドファンディングを利用することで、まず金型の製作費用とプロトタイプの提供資金を調達することに致しました。
とはいえ、現時点の計画は全てがスムーズに進んだ場合であり、目標金額に達した場合でも状況により金型スケジュールが遅延する可能性はあります。やむを得ない事情による遅延があった場合、その進捗については支援してくださった皆様にアップデート等を通じてご報告します。
なお、本プロジェクトはコンセプトファンディング（All or nothing）での実施になります。金型を製作しコンバージョンキットを皆様のお手元に届けるのに必要な最低ラインの金額として設定した目標金額に達しない場合は、支援者の方々からの支援金は返金となり、「MRD Prototype コンバーションキット」の提供を見送ります。クラウドファンディング成立のため、多くの応援をよろしくお願いいたします。

Molds are essential in the production of RC cars, and manufacturing high-precision parts with high-quality molds is not an easy task. And it is not easy to manufacture high precision parts using high quality molds.
Since the planning stage of the HRD project, we have been searching for a factory that can manufacture high quality molds and produce high precision parts in a stable manner. Finally, we were able to find a factory that could provide the quality and price we wanted.
However, even the best factories cannot produce for free. We need a lot of money, not only to make the molds, but also to store and maintain them, as well as to produce them. That is why we decided to use crowdfunding to raise the cost of making the molds. Once we are able to make the molds, we have a good idea of the cost of production.
However, the current plan is based on the assumption that everything goes smoothly. Even if we reach our goal, there is a possibility that the mold schedule will be delayed depending on circumstances. We will notify all of our supporters of any changes.
Please note that this project will be implemented through concept funding (all or nothing). If we do not reach our goal, which is the minimum amount of money needed to produce the molds and deliver the conversion kits to your users, we will refund the money raised by our supporters. And the "MRD Prototype Conversion Kit" will not be offered. Please help us make this crowdfunding project a reality.

本格的なRCカーのクラウドファンディングというのはとても珍しいことでもあり、我々が今回クラウドファンディングを選択した理由を最後にお伝えさせていただきます。
通常のRCカーは設計から試作、プロトタイプを使ったテストなどの内容がユーザーに伝わることはほとんどありません。完成されたものを商品として発売するというのが一般的です。
そんな中、我々は提供側だけで考えたRCカーではなく、ユーザーと共に創り上げるRCカーを生み出していくために、通常はユーザーの手に渡らないプロトタイプを商品として入手しやすい価格で提供し、ユーザーからのフィードバックを受けながら、今後発売しようとしている商品開発に活かしていきたいと考えました。
しかし、多くの方に高品質なプロトタイプを入手しやすい価格で届けるためには、どうしても金型による大量生産を行うことが必須であり、これを実現するには多くの資金を必要とします。これが我々がクラウドファンディングを利用する理由です。
また、このプロトタイプ提供がゴールではありません。今後、更に開発を進めて完全なオリジナルとなるラジコンカーを皆様と共に創り上げる為の第一歩なのです。

Crowdfunding for a real RC car is a very rare thing.
We would like to communicate the reason why we chose crowdfunding this time.
Usually RC cars are not communicated to the users from the design, prototyping, and testing using prototypes. It is common for the finished product to be released as a commodity.
In such a situation, we would like to offer prototypes, which are usually not available to users, as a product at an affordable price, in order to create RC cars that are created together with users, rather than RC cars that are thought up only by the provider side. We wanted to receive feedback from users and apply it to the development of products that we intend to launch in the future.
However, in order to provide high-quality prototypes to a large number of users at an affordable price, it is essential to mass-produce the prototypes using metal molds. To achieve this, we need a lot of funds. This is why we are using crowdfunding.
Also, providing this prototype is not the goal. This is the first step toward further development and the creation of a completely original radio-controlled car together with everyone.
